ISTANBUL: Turkey obtained the primary batch of Russia’s S-400 missile defence system on Friday, the defence ministry stated, regardless of repeated warnings from its NATO ally United States (US) in opposition to the acquisition.
“The supply of the primary cargo of components of the S-400 long-range regional air missile defence system started as of July 12 to Murted air base in Ankara,” the ministry stated in an announcement.
