KABUL: The Taliban on Tuesday vowed to proceed combating towards US forces in Afghanistan after President Donald Trump mentioned talks with insurgents have been ‘useless’, saying Washington would remorse abandoning negotiations.
“We had two methods to finish the occupation in Afghanistan, one was combating, the opposite was talks and negotiations,” Taliban spokesperson Zabihullah Mujahid informed AFP.
“If Trump desires to cease talks, we are going to take the primary method and they’re going to quickly remorse it.”
The Taliban’s assertion got here hours after Trump informed reporters that the US was strolling away from negotiations after almost a yr of talks that aimed to pave the way in which for an American withdrawal from Afghanistan following 18 years of conflict.
