LAHORE: Police have registered a case of vandalism and interference in authorities affairs in opposition to 150 workers of Pakistan Muslim League – Nawaz (PML-N), together with party chief Uzma Bukhari.
The case was filed on the Islampura police station on Saturday, a day after clashes between PML-N staff and police throughout party vp Maryam Nawaz’s court look in Lahore.
Eight individuals, together with Bukhari, have been named within the First Info Report.
Police have accused the PML-N supporters of bodily assaulting on-duty cops, hurling stones at them, and inflicting harm to state property.
On Friday, PML-N leaders and staff reached the accountability court in Lahore for a present of solidarity with Maryam.
Police had been ordered to cease the party’s workers from reaching the court premises which led to exchanges of harsh phrases and, finally, clashes.
Incidents of police high-handedness had been extensively reported, as had been accidents to police personnel.
In June, a case was filed in opposition to PML-N staff after constables of the Lahore Police had been injured scuffles throughout protests in opposition to Punjab Opposition chief Hamza Shehbaz’s arrest.
Previous to that, in Could, police registered an FIR in opposition to 1,400 PML-N staff and leaders for holding a solidarity rally for former prime minister Nawaz Sharif’s return to Kot Lakhpat jail.
